Pastor Michael
A. Wilson is the son of Reverend James Wilson, Sr. and Mrs. Diane Wilson, the
brother of James Wilson, Jr. and Michele Delaney, and brother-in-law of Milton
Delaney. He has a nephew named Paul and a niece named Cydney.
Pastor Michael joined
Fort
Foote
Baptist
Church
on December 31, 1990 while he was a junior at
Liberty
University
. After graduating from college and beginning seminary he returned to the area
and became licensed to preach the gospel as the children’s minister in 1993 at
Fort
Foote
.
Pastor Michael married his college sweetheart, Rachel in 1994 at
Fort
Foote
. Reverend Michael was ordained at
Fort
Foote
in 1998 and after 6 years of serving as the children’s minister, he and
Rachel began their own children’s ministry at home when they later had two
daughters; Jordan and Jayda.
In February 2001, they began a new church in Waldorf called
Redeemed
Christian
Worship
Center
with the love and support of Fort Foote Baptist. Presently, Pastor Michael is
the pastor of Redeem’s loving and serving members- where he is affectionately
known as Pastor Michael.
He is also the
principal of an elementary school on Capitol Hill in
Washington
,
D.C.
In addition to his wife, kids, and other family members, Pastor Michael’s
parents are also members of Redeemed where his mother is active in the woman’s
ministry and his father serves as the church’s elder.
Pastor Michael wants to be known as a Christian son, father, and husband who’s
a friend of God. He wants to be known, as parents are known, as simply servants
of God. One of his favorite verses is Philippians 3:10, “That I may know him
and the power of his resurrection…”
